French Apple Pie

Classic apple pie recipe utilizes ready to bake pie crust. Apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and cornstarch make up the delicious filling. Topped with a brown sugar, butter and flour topping. and baked until bubbly and caramelized on top.
Ingredients -
1 (9-inch) Ready-to-Bake Pie Crust
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
pinch of Salt
6 cup cored, peeled and thinly sliced Tart Baking Apples (approx. 4-5 medium-size apples)

Crumb Topping:
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup Butter

 
Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Prepare pie crust according to package directions.

3. Place pie crust in glass pie plate.

4. In small bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.

5. Stir in sliced apples.

6. Spoon apple pie filling mixture into pie plate.


Crumb Topping:
1. In small bowl, mix flour and brown sugar together.

2. Cut in butter until crumbly.

3. Sprinkle crumb topping over pie.

4. Place glass pie plate on baking sheet.

5. Bake 90 minutes.
