Brown Bag Apple Pie

Ages old classic recipe for easy apple pie. Deep dish piecrust filled with tart apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Pie topped with crumbly sugar and butter mixture and baked in a sealed brown paper bag.
Ingredients -
1 Deep Dish Pie Crust
4 or 5 Granny Smith Apples, peeled & sliced
2 tablespoons Self-Rising Flour
1-1/4 cups Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 cup Half & Half

Topping:
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1 stick Margarine

 
Preparation:

1. Add flour, sugar, cinnamon and half & half to a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

2. Fold in apple slices, toss to coat.

3. Spread apple mixture evenly into piecrust.

4. Preheat oven to 350 F.

5. Add flour and sugar to medium mixing bowl. Cut in oleo till crumbly. Spread topping over apples.

6. Place apple pie in large paper bag.

7. Fold ends over twice.

8. Bake pie in 350 F. oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
