Apple Raspberry Pie

Delicious and easy apple pie recipe combines Granny Smith apples with raspberries, cinnamon, allspice and lemon juice. Baked in a hot oven until bubbly and golden brown.
Ingredients -
6 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 packages Pie Crust Mix
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Allspice
1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
1 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Flour
2 cups Frozen Unsweetened Raspberries
1 Egg, beaten
 
Preparation:

1. Add apples and lemon juice to bowl. Set aside.

2. In large bowl, combine pie crust mixes with cinnamon, ground allspice, and ginger. Prepare pie dough according to package directions.

3. Divide dough into 2 balls. Flour large cutting board or wax paper.

4. Roll each dough ball into 11-inch circle.

5. Place 1 pie dough circle into 9-inch pie pan. Set aside.

6. Preheat oven to 375 F.

7. Stir sugar, flour, remaining cinnamon and allspice into reserved apples.

8. Stir in raspberries. Spoon into pie shell.

9. Place 2nd dough over filling. Trim and flute edges with your fingers.

10. Cut slits in pie crust for steam to escape. Place in oven.

11. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes or until top is browned and filling is bubbly.
