Apple And Nut Pie

Delicious apple pie combines brown sugar, flour, butter, walnuts and sliced Granny Smith apples in ready-rolled piecrust. Make this beautiful pie in minutes, serve to friends and family an hour later.
Ingredients -
1 Refrigerator Ready-Rolled Piecrust
1 1/4 cups packed Brown Sugar
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped Walnuts
3 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, sliced thin
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 450 F.

2. Place ready rolled piecrust into pie plate. Prick bottom with fork and crimp edges with fingers.

3. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.

4. Cool crust completely.

5. Add 1-cup brown sugar, flour, butter and walnuts to large mixing bowl. Beat until crumbly.

6. Arrange half of the apple slices on bottom of piecrust.

7. Sprinkle remaining brown sugar on apple slices. Arrange remaining apple slices into shell.

8. Top apple slices crumb mixture.

9. Reduce oven to 350 F.

10. Bake 1 hour or until golden brown.

Granny Smith apples are delicious and a bit sour. They are great for use in pies and especially nice for baking when paired with sweeter apple varieties such as Golden Delicious.
